On one of the excursions to Barcelona, I went to the FC Museum. Showing was a film called “Salo” by Pier Paolo Pasolini, and I stopped to watch for a bit. Fascinated by the black and white images and the preponderance of feminine suppression, I took a few images. Later, back in the residency, I thought about dominance, suppression, and what one willingly comes to accept or desire. This painting and the other Having Coffee were the result of this.
Original painting on canvas. Finger painting. Unstretched, can be shipped rolled.
